The title of this book really says it all. I read this book 2 years ago and it still makes me so angry to think about the wasted time I spent reading this book. To the point where I finally have caved and am writing a review even though I hardly ever leave reviews.I have read a LOT of romance books, contemporary, historical, sci-fi, young adult, fantasy, funny, serious, you name it. I'm usually a big fan. I might loose interest in a book, but I rarely 'hate' a book. I HATED Wasted Words. This book felt like I was reading some college girl's fanfic. There's a reason this book was so cheap. It obviously doesn't take a lot of effort to write this. If you are a female comic book fanatic that has major complexes about why a guy would ever like you, this book might be for you, but I can recommend better. You'll spend 75% of the book listening the main female, Cam, obsess over why a guy like Tyler would ever be with her. Doesn't really promote a healthy self image.One review said "It's perfection. If Jane Austen were alive, she'd agree. - USA Today Bestselling Author Lex Martin". I almost smashed my computer reading those words. I LOVE Jane Austen, but this book is nothing like a Jane Austen novel. The woman is not a role model and I would never recommend it to another Austen lover. I'm also happy I've never read anything by Lex Martin. Maybe read a REAL Jane Austen book instead of this crappy imitation. I've read better Austen fanfics for free than this book.Save your time and go read something by an author who doesn't write about their own fantasies, but instead can develop real characters that are smart, funny, and strong.
