I want to start by saying I was a little disappointed that Cammy and Laliah did nkt get there own own book or novella in the series. I really would have liked to read about their romance. Slight spoiler they are already engaged in this book.I believe this book takes place about a year or so after the second book ended. If you recall in the second book we are introduced to Quincy (fyi thats her last name) as a polo player and member of the Queen's Marines. A lot has happened in that time and Quincy has "left" the Marines and is now the personal guard of the Queen Consort Bea. Threats a being sent to Quincy regarding the queen but no one believes her. Then there is Holly, the Consorts best friend and dresser. She is the complete opposite of Quincy. You know whete this is going and the trip there is an okay one.Regarding the threats, this is no action thriller mystery. Its pretty obvious from the get go and everything is done pretty simply. No surprises although I would have liked more of the aftermath...for instance if the "puppet master" wanted Quincy to pay then way try to get her out of the way. And also did the "puppet" know what the master had planned cause it wouldn't fit the puppets ultimate goal. Hopefully that didnt give away to much. Still following me?Anyway, the books moves fairly fast. Quincy was a bit difficult to like and Holly got a bit annoying here and there. But I overall liked it. Still the first one is my favorite and if I had to guess, Clayton will be the next one in the installment and something to deal with Bo Dixon...not them together but something.
